All you need is a Coach who believes in you.

I had invited emerging leaders to attend a workshop last week to explore different leadership style. These sessions are platforms for my current clients to also experience public speaking, presentation and confidence building, while also giving back to the society at large.

We had a diverse-sector group for cross learning, ranging from established entrepreneurs to IT to social impact leaders. The assessment and discussion revealed common blind spots in these managers -

1. 58% care about being right than getting the work done

2. 50% micromanage

3. another 50% dont delegate enough

4. 42% avoid having a hard conversation

Those who struggle with hard conversations and dont delegate enough tell themselves the story that - "I will get the work done wheather the team does it or not" and "I will handle it myself". "I dont want to fight, it makes me look bad".

These are also the managers who hear from their bosses regularly that -

1. Improve your attitude

2. Speak with more confidence

3. You lack authority in your behaviour.

But what's striking is that 66% of these managers are the ones who are the negotiators aka the managers caught between vision and execution. They are the one holding the fort everyday for the companies/organizations, but are firefighting on the ground day in and day out. They manage varied stakeholder interests, hold the teams together and take the brunt of tight deadline, sacrificing their personal spaces. These are the managers who are highly under-invested by any employer. The training programmes are generic, sporadic and no personal mentoring and coaching is ever available for these managers.

They get stuck in career stagnation, low public profile and are often bypassed for strategic promotions. Imagine the impact on them due to sudden disruptive industry shifts?

This is the gap I am trying to bridge through at blended programme - not just providing a space for personal growth but also a platform to unload, innovate and build network with others.
