If you think coaching is about fixing what's broken, you're missing the point. It's about building what's possible.

Recently, I was talking to a friend and she said - well, everyone on the internet is selling coaching like how chai is being sold on the street. It stung me but she is right. A wave of "coaching" has hit the internet. She was referring to those - 3 days meditation coaching to 2 hour wellness coaching to INR 199 for 1 day masterclass on relationship coaching.

I dont blame her or the internet. There is no dearth of those self-help or wellness courses, classes and experiences being sold in the name of coaching, creating this cloud of confusion. It is the word that has caught on and is being misused and abused. So, what is Coaching?

Is it therapy?

Or

Is it a mentor providing answers?

Or

Is it a wellness retreat for your career?

Or

Is it consulting to solve a problem?

You may be surprised but It is none of those things.

If you're a leader, an executive, a manager, or an entrepreneur, misunderstanding coaching can mean you're missing out on your single greatest lever for growth. Let me debunk the most popular myths.

Myth 1: Coaching is for people with problems.

The fact is that Coaching is for people with potential. It isn't about fixing people, relationships, health or work/life problems.

Coaching is a process, which is relentlessly future-focused. It is based on the premise that you are resourceful and creative, but perhaps stuck, unclear, or in your own way. Unlike therapy which focuses on healing past wounds, Coaching doesn't dig into your childhood; rather, it builds a blueprint for your future.

Myth 2: A coach will tell me what to do.

Sorry to break it to you, but a coach will help you discover your own answers. Unlike those tuition classes which are also sold under the label of 'Coaching Classes'. A coach doesn't team. A tutor teaches, a mentor guides and a consultant provides expert advice and solutions.

A coach operates on a fundamental belief that all the answers lie within you. My job isn't to give you a fish or even teach you how to fish. My job is to help you realize that you may already have a rod, bait, and the skill. You've just forgotten where you have put them, or you're afraid of water.

Myth 3: Coaching is a passive, listening, validating experience.

Quite contrary to this myth, Coaching is a rigorous partnership of accountability. It is about entering into a space where you are required to be honest, curious and determined about your own life. It's a training ground, where the heavy lifting will be done by you only. It's a thinking partnership where you are challenged to confront your limiting beliefs, held accountable to your commitments, and pushed to take bold action. It's often uncomfortable, because real growth happens outside your comfort zone.

In nutshell:

Coaching is the safe, non-judgemental but dedicated space for skilled partnership where you translate your potential into performance.

It's the "CEO of Your Life" upgrade. It's where you step out of the day-to-day grind to gain clarity, make powerful decisions, and execute with a level of focus and confidence you didn't know you have always had.

You don't need coaching because you're weak. You seek it because you're ambitious.

You're ready to stop wondering "what if?" and start building "what is."

If you're ready to stop being an autopilot and start becoming the most undeniable force, let's talk. Book your exploratory call today.
